In the summer of 2001, another change took hold of the band. Tom Smith, the keyboardist and Mike Courcy, guitarist headed out on their own. Without missing a beat, Bob’s Day Off recruited guitarist Thom Hiller, who played for years in the highly successful band, “John Monopoly”, who also won the WBRU Rock Hunt a few years earlier. Keyboardist, Billy Leetch (formerly of the band, “Those Guys”) joined BDO very soon after.
With this perfect configuration, BDO has set out to establish itself in the big arena of major label success. With this in mind, Bob’s Day Off has streamlined it’s approach to writing, cutting out the dead weight and in doing so, hired multi-platinum selling producer, Phil Greene (who produced records for Markie Mark, New Kids on The Block and Def Leppard). Along with Phil Greene, BDO has hired producer Stuart Kimball who has worked successfully with Phil Greene in the past and is an accomplished and successful guitarist in his own right.
Now that the team has been assembled, Bob’s Day Off is evolving at a break-neck pace into a well oiled machine of talent, creativity, marketing and diligent business.
